3.1 CICS INTERNET GATEWAY

The CICS Internet Gateway enables access to host CICS 3270 applications from a browser. A CICS Client application program uses the EPI call to contact MVS CICS. The application:

• converts the web browser's data streams into 3270 data streams to be sent to the host
• converts 3270 data streams to data streams for presentation at the web browser.

The CICS Internet Gateway Client application is not customisable and the translation between 3270 and the web browser is not sophisticated.
